ST. PETER’S JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

EXAMINATION GUIDELINES

.        Students are to be familiar with the exam schedule and exam guidelines.  Students are to present themselves for exams at the proper time and date.  No coats, hats, books or book bags permitted in the gym or classrooms for the exam subject.

2.      In the gym, all students writing an exam will be seated according to section.

3.      Students are to enter the exam room in silence and follow all instructions from the chairperson.  Students must be on time for exams.

4.      Upon entering the exam room students are to move immediately and silently to a seat.  Students are not to communicate in any way with other students.  ABSOLUTE SILENCE is mandatory once the examinations begin.

5.      Students found to be using unfair means in the exam room may receive a mark of 0%.  Parents will be notified and a meeting will be set to discuss further action, if necessary.

6.      The chairperson in the exam room will announce any corrections or omissions to the exam.  No questions related to the exam or questions of an interpretive nature will be permitted.

7.      Students are to have ALL MATERIALS REQUIRED to write the examination.  There will be NO BORROWING of materials in the examination room.

8.      Study Hall will be provided in a designated room where strict silence will be observed.  This is a supervised study hall for the convenience of students.  Any student who is uncooperative will be asked to leave immediately.

9.      We are requesting that students bring in their lunch - cafeteria service will be operated on a skeleton basis.

0.    Students are reminded to USE THE WASHROOM BEFORE EXAMS.  Except in case of emergency, there will be no leaving the exam room once exams begin.

11.  Morning exams will be written from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15, 2007.  Afternoon exams will be written from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11 through Wednesday, June 13, and 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15, 2007.

12.  No students will be permitted to leave the exam room before the end of the exam session and until his/her test has been collected by a supervising teacher.  You may bring in a novel to read or material for another subject to study once your exam has been collected.  Books or study materials must be placed under the desk.

13.  Students are to clearly mark their exam with their name and their section number, ex: 9(1), 8(3), 7(5).  Exams will be collected by the supervising teachers and sorted into class groups.

14.  Students who are finished their exams are to leave the building immediately once they have their jackets and book bags after leaving the exam room.  Any student attending study session will go immediately to the designated room.  THERE IS TO BE NO LOITERING IN THE CLASSROOMS OR THE HALLWAYS DURING EXAMS.

E.    Exam schedules will be posted throughout the building.

16.  Students who miss an exam will be assigned 0% for a missed exam unless a medical note explaining the absence is provided to the office before the end of the exams.  It is the responsibility of each student to be familiar with these guidelines and to follow them as outlined.

B.    Bus run times will be different during the June exam schedule.  Morning bus run time will be as usual for morning exams.  Following A.M. exams, buses will depart at 11:10 a.m., dropping students along their regular runs as well as picking up students writing the exam for the afternoon time (12:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday).  Following the afternoon exams, buses will depart the schoolyard at 2:10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

8.    When schools close for a full day during exams, the exam scheduled for that day will be moved to the next day.  If schools close at mid-day, the afternoon exams will be scheduled to the end of the exam period.

9.  No electronic devices such as cell phones, MP3/CD players, palm pilots, handheld computers, digital cameras, DVD players, jump drives, digital voice recorders, portable disc players, etc. permitted in the exam room.  No PJ’s, tank tops, halter tops, spaghetti string tops, sleeveless basketball-shirts, (male or female) are to be worn during exams.
